Dr Harpal Bains has over 29 years of medical experience and has spent the last 15 specialising in functional, hormone and longevity medicine.
Harpal’s medical journey began on a conventional path in the NHS, where she completed her surgical rotation before moving into functional and longevity medicine.
She founded Harpal Clinic in 2012, at a time when the functional medicine field was still relatively unknown. As Medical Director, she stays at the forefront of emerging scientific developments in longevity and integrative medicine. She applies these clinically relevant, evidence-informed innovations to day-to-day patient care, ensuring all patients receive the most advanced, personalised and practical strategies available. To sustain her practice in the early years, she also worked in aesthetic medicine – a path she hadn’t initially set out on, but one where she developed a strong skill set where she brought a longevity-focused lens to everything she did.
Harpal shares her expertise through speaking, mentoring and writing, and her work has been featured in publications including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, The Telegraph, The Sunday Times, Men’s Health and GQ.
“I’ve always been drawn to the space between sickness and potential - helping people who are unwell find answers, and helping people who are well protect and extend that wellness. My work is about putting the pieces of the puzzle together until the picture makes sense, then using that understanding to change what happens next.”
