Dr Harpal Bains has had a varied and interesting career in medicine, starting with surgery whilst in the NHS and then moving on to private medicine for over 15 years.

It all started with wanting to try something different. She was the company doctor with AKE limited, a hostile region training facility formed by former SAS elites. She trained journalists in medical survival in hostile regions.

This led her to London where she worked as a surgeon for Marie Stopes International. During this time, she pursued her postgraduate diploma in Sexual and Reproductive medicine which eventually led to working in a male sexual dysfunction clinic in Harley street. Her work in sexual dysfunction led her to testosterone and eventually the whole spectrum of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and functional medicine. She trained in the USA under Neal Rouzier, who is one of the foremost experts in the world in BHRT. Alongside this, she has developed her own protocol incorporating her in-depth experience to create a thorough programme to address her patients’ needs and well being.

Dr Salker read Medicine at Kings College London and has an intercalated degree in Psychology. Dr Salker went on to complete a competitive London GP training programme and qualified in 2014. During her GP training she completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Diploma in Reproductive and Sexual Health. She works as an NHS and Private GP.

Dr Salker’s journey into functional medicine came about shortly after she started practicing as a fully-fledged GP. She realised that there were several patients with chronic health conditions and chronic health symptoms such as fatigue, joint pain and depression who were not improving with conventional medicine. Dr Salker wanted to learn more about holistic care and preventative medicine. She completed the prestigious Darzi Fellowship in Public Health. Following on from this, she completed the AFMCP and more recently has trained as a DNA life practitioner.

The functional medicine approach allows Dr Salker to dig deeper in order to find out the root cause of a patient’s chronic health symptoms. She is able to create a tailored health recovery programme which incorporates a variety of evidence-based measures.

She is truly passionate about her patient’s recovery and her dedication and commitment to their health is clear to see.

Dr Raczko is passionate about nutrition and lifestyle medicine. She had exposure to a wide range of medical specialties while working in hospital, including general medicine, surgery, psychiatry, and A&E. During her psychiatry rotation, she completed a Diploma in Mental Health.

Her journey with functional medicine started when she was working in A&E and had first-hand experience with patients often presenting with lifestyle-related chronic conditions. This led Dr Raczko to further explore the role of nutrition in health and disease – she completed the Nutritional Medicine MSc modules at the prestigious University of Surrey. She also completed training in IV Nutrition Therapy with Intravita in order to be able to use different modalities of nutrients delivery.

In addition, Dr Raczko attended the Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine course with Dr Rangan Chatterjee and started her training in functional medicine by attending AFMCP in London in 2018. She has training in functional tests such as gut, hormonal, nutrigenomic tests and has attended multiple nutritional, microbiome, lifestyle and functional medicine courses and conferences by the leading experts in those fields.

Dr Raczko is passionate about the holistic approach to health and wellbeing based on the premise of personalised medicine.

Dr Curran is an innovative medical practitioner in the study of integrative and regenerative medicine. He believes that everyone deserves a life full of vitality, and he has a passion for empowering individuals to reclaim their health and thrive.

Dr Curran hails from Cape Town, South Africa where he was awarded his medical degree and an intercalated post-graduate honours degree in human genetics. He spent his foundational years completing rotations in emergency medicine and trauma care.

After relocating to the U.K. in 2005, he transitioned into senior clinical and advisory roles in the corporate well-being sector. This equipped him with a nuanced understanding of the factors affecting the performance of individuals operating in competitive and emotionally demanding environments.

He has spent over a decade collaborating with an extensive range of blue-chip companies across the technology and financial services sectors in London, where he has led on the development and implementation of corporate health and executive well-being services. During this time he also completed additional post-graduate qualifications in occupational health and nutritional medicine.

As a member of the British Society for Ecological Medicine, Dr Curran is a firm believer in the integrative medical approach which leverages our understanding of human ecology to identify the root cause of disease and promote healing in a holistic and patient-focused manner. He is particularly drawn to evidence-based, cutting edge advances in science and technology that support physiological resilience, human performance and longevity.

Elisabeth is a registered general nurse and homoeopath focusing on complementary therapies and nutrition. She has professional interests in community nursing and wound care, especially nutrition’s role in wound healing. She has been a practising homoeopath since 1997 and has gained vast experience over the years in treating childhood illnesses, especially children and adults with respiratory and skin conditions.

In her position at the Harpal clinic, she has enjoyed learning about the role of vitamin therapy in managing acute and chronic conditions and seeing all the positive outcomes in wellness that our clients experience. She continues to gain insight into the role of IV vitamin therapy in assisting with that journey and is keen to advance her knowledge of the clinic’s protocols to achieve optimum health.

Adored by our staff and patients alike, Elisabeth has been such a welcome addition to the team that we have considered cloning her just to hear her laugh in stereo.

A doctor of a different breed, academia was no match for Nirupa, a PhD in Humanities and former lecturer at university.

Nirupa’s background gives her an intricate eye for detail and ensures that everything she does is met with the precision and accuracy necessary to keep the clinic running smoothly. And although you may never meet her, she has definitely coordinated at least a small part of every patient’s journey with us.

She continuously goes above and beyond, making certain her systematic approach always considers the human element with professionalism and patient care at the forefront.

An avid traveller and mum of two with a wicked sense of humour makes Nirupa a well-rounded person who can balance her personality’s responsible and fun-loving parts with great aplomb. We think ourselves lucky to have her as part of our team.

Joining our team following stints in both a fertility and ultrasound clinic, Aliyah has worked in the clinical environment for quite some time and finds almost everything about hormones fascinating.

She has grown tremendously over her years working with us, becoming the principal support link between our practitioners and patients.

Her devoted interest to learn as much as possible about a functional medicine approach to health led her to get her certificate in Health and Wellness Coaching from the Institute of Health Sciences, making her part of the UK Health Coach Association and the International Coaching Federation.

Aliyah believes everyone should have a basic understanding of their hormonal health and its importance; you live with them your entire life, after all! An avid participant in self-study, she emphasises that you don’t need a degree to grasp this knowledge and strives to sweep the jargon away when helping people. She also has considerable enthusiasm and takes great effort to learn and understand medications, why they are prescribed, and their side effects to help guide patients through their journey and support them as much as possible.

Outside of the clinic, you’d definitely catch Aliyah with a book in her hand, travelling and enjoying different cultures.

Aliyah shines when helping others. She is such an essential part of the clinic team we don’t know what we’d do without her.

After completing a BA(Hons) in Film Studies and Video Production at university  and working in the film industry for a short time, Victoria started to really reflect and examine diet and health when her mum was diagnosed with oesophagal cancer around 6 years ago.

Her mum’s diagnosis drove her to start looking at food as medicine rather than just fuel, and discovering how to manipulate our health through diet opened up an entirely new world for her. She found ION (Institute for Optimum Nutrition) not long after and decided to complete a BSc in Nutritional Therapy, looking to finish her diploma in 2022 and complete her BSc in 2023.

Victoria has a particular passion for myco-medicine, a unique natural medicine class that looks at the fruiting bodies, spores, or other tissues of medicinal fungi. She also has a keen interest in other anti-ageing foods and lifestyle techniques.

Victoria enjoys being immersed in different cultures; she has lived in Italy, working with the Hare Krishnas and Sicilian families that owned small businesses and has also lived in Spain and China. In China, she taught English to children, which was a wonderful and fulfilling experience for her. Her favourite place in China is the ancient town of Fenghuang, finding it breathtakingly magical.

She has been a brilliant addition to the clinic team, and we look forward to her growing her career and knowledge with us.
