With Dr Bains, you are in safe hands, she will listen to your concerns during your consultation and tailor the treatment to your requirements. This treatment involves botulinum toxin type A being injected directly into the muscles. Most commonly used to improve the look of frown lines between the brows, crows feet at the corners of the eyes, forehead lines and laughter lines, Dr Bains also does more specialised areas eg calf reshaping and jawline slimming.
Personal Note from Dr Bains
"I like botox and what it can achieve. My personal preference is for a natural look and so I tend to under-correct. Its a very rare occasion when I need to treat and charge for 3 areas. What I tend to do and the way I was initially trained by a plastic surgeon more than 10 years ago, is to look at a face as a whole and treat the face, not the area. So whilst my pricing lists prices by the area (in line with other clinics), I tend to treat what's required- by mutual discussion with my patients -using the least amount of botox. This means that I may be able to do 2-3 areas with the same amount of toxin required to completely freeze one area. Naturally, I will do the 'freeze' if this is the desired look. I also specialise in 'soft' correction in men who don't want to look quite so angry/stressed but need a little something to help them. Please discuss your 'ideal' with me and I will try my best to achieve it."
Who can benefit from it?
People who have started to notice fine lines or established wrinkles and those who want to look less tired or angry.
What is the procedure?
Botulinum toxin is injected into the relevant muscles to cause a temporary relaxation which eases the expression lines.
How long will the procedure last?
Is it painful?
You will feel a slight sting.
What happens straight after treatment?
You can continue with your day as usual, however you may experience some bruising or swelling.
When will I see results?
You will notice results after a few days and will have the full benefit two weeks after initial treatment. For top-ups if you feel that the desired outcome is not satisfactory, please let us know within two weeks and we will do a complementary review and top up.
Do I need to repeat this treatment?
Yes, after your follow-up consultation we suggest returning every 4-6 months for the first year or two. After a few treatments you will find your muscle becomes flatter and less top-ups are needed as time goes on.
What are the long-term benefits and results?
From smoothing out wrinkles to stopping excessive sweating to looking younger. It can also help those who suffer from headaches.
Bocouture Botulinum toxin type A. We also use Botox Botulinum type A at a surcharge.
+ Cost of treatment
Introductory botox for those venturing for the first time or for those who prefer a very natural look. The face and clients concerns are addressed, and botox is applied to areas that require it, so two or more areas may be targeted but total toxin volume used stays the same. This may not remove all the wrinkles and will still allow some movement. If you like this but feel that you want less lines or movement, you can top it up at an additional charge. Top ups can be performed up to 4 weeks post treatment. Up to 20 units are used for baby botox.
Baby Botox top-ups (within 6 weeks)
£60 (upto 5 units)
£10 (every additional 1 unit)
Botox by unit
£100 (upto 6 units)
£10 (every additional 1 unit)
Brow Lift (this includes the frown line and the eye area to give a lifted effect)
One Area (for example frown only) or Two Soft* Areas (up to 25 units), Jawline or face slimming
Two Areas (for example frown and forehead) or Three Soft* Areas (up to 42 units)
Three Areas (for example frown, forehead and crows feet) or more (up to 54 units)
Hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating), Nefertiti Neck Lines or Four Areas
Calf reshaping or slimming(will depend on bulkiness of calf muscles and desired effect)**
+ Good to know
We offer a review at two weeks after your botox treatment where a complimentary top-up is offered if necessary. Any top-ups after the two-week period for the same areas will be charged at £50. This does not apply to baby botox.
*Soft Correction- this refers to a partial correction (or full in some cases if your muscles are very weak). You may still have some movement with this correction. Its a more natural look and a fairer method of pricing where the cost is for the quantity of botulinum toxin used and not the areas treated. If top ups are required for soft correction, this will be complementary only for the first time as we will assume that you prefer a fuller correction and charge you accordingly for the next time (eg instead of soft 2, you will be charged for 2 areas).
**Calf reshaping requires quite a lot of product as the calf is a very large muscle. We charge as per a 3-area charge (54 units) and for those needing much more, we will quote a price with a rough guide of 100 units at £550. We prefer to go conservative with calf treatments for a more natural longer term solution.
